Between November 2022 and April 2023, I experienced a traumatic brain injury that developed into “post-concussive syndrome” comprised of acute photophobia, impaired cognition, lack of sensory discernment, and excrutiation, unceasing pain. As I emerged, I wrote more than 100,000 words in six months on a Substack (Laura Hope-Gill ‘s Quiet World). I was translating the months of non-thought into words from a very deep place within, a place I had inhabited. Here are some of the handwritten pages. Prior to the injury, my handwriting was scrawl. These, as you see, are extremely tidy printing. All of these notes and essays present concepts of Natural Philosophy, as though the intuitive writing were notifying me of my new, integrated mind.
